LASIK, 6 months later

It's been six months since I had my LASIK procedure done. I had a follow-up appointment scheduled last week, and the news wasn't entirely awesome. I have definitely noticed that the glare/halos that I see at night are still there, and haven't seem to gone away in the timeline that the doctors told me about (that's 2-4 months). I was interested to hear what the doctor had to say, and the story is that apparently my right eye has regressed about to the point where I could have an "enhancement" procedure done. I think I'm still technically 20/20-ish with both eyes, but my right eye is definitely weaker than my left. I hadn't really noticed that until I got in the office and covered my left eye...it was definitely not possible to see that bottom row of letters, or the one above it. I barely made out the third from the bottom - I'm not sure what kind of vision that rates as, but not awesome.

So the plan is to wait a while. The doctor says we need to wait for it to stabilize before doing an enhancement (which is essentially a do-over of the first procedure, except there's no flap cutting needed), so I've got another appointment scheduled in 6 months for that. The good news is that I don't have to pay for it, it's all covered in my original fee. The bad news, obviously, is that I may be the one in the one in four that need to be "touched-up" after the original procedure. I'm not really all that worried about it though, if it can get rid of the halos I see at night. And now I have been walking around closing one eye to see the difference, and it's pretty noticeable. I probably look a little strange though...

Anyway that's the news...
