Just a few random notes this evening.
Five years ago today I started work at Auto-Owners. That's a little scary. No, check that, it's a lot scary. That's all I want to say about that.
Back before the trip to Ireland, I was desperately trying to get a Capital One Visa card. I got denied, repeatedly, which I was really surprised by. I mean, I don't have awesome credit, but it should be good enough to get the MTV Visa right? Yeah, didn't happen. Finally today I paid 15 bucks to get my FICO score. Turns out it's in the "Very Good" category, around 750. Which I guess is good news, but at the same time...I have no idea why Capital One wouldn't let me have a card. I guess I can try to get a card with an annual fee, but that seems just stupid. Why is credit so hard???
American Idol is finally out of auditions phase, which I'm moderately excited about. I'll be more excited when it's less than 6 hours a week. And it's a little depressing to think that of the million or so people that tried out...this is really the best they could come up with? So many legitimate performers are sitting at home. But more exciting, is Lost, which has been back for a few weeks now. Man that show is awesome.
Changed the filter in my vacuum the other day. Oh man, that was an awesome idea. So much better. Not sure if I posted that before, but I'm still excited about it if I did.
Speaking of things that are finally done, after many months of procrastination, Pete and I finally tackled the dishwasher. I posted a photo of the old dishwasher on its last legs - if you didn't catch it, that was a chain holding up the top rack. We ended up getting the cheapest dishwasher ever produced from ABC Warehouse (by the way, ABC Warehouse is still as painful of an experience as I last remember), which is a Roper model. Yeah, that's right, a Roper. After pretty much a whole day of installation, we finally got it in there, and I don't think it's leaking. It works better than the old one (thankfully), so that's good news.
Upcoming events I'm pretty excited about: Molly and I are going to the Motor City Casino at the end of March to see Tower of Power. I'm way excited about that actually. There's also a few of us going to see Stephen Lynch in Ann Arbor in April, definitely also going to be a good time. It's shaping up to be an action-packed spring, and luckily, with lots of fun things!
